January23, 2010	Chen Guangbiao, a famed Chinese philanthropist as well as a National Moral Model, with another 20 philanthropists, withdrew 43.16 million yuan ($6.32 million) in cash. Before the Spring Festival, the philoanthropists will visit rural areas and distribute aid to the poor in Xinjiang, Tibet, Yunan, Guizhou, and Sichuan.[

December 15, 2009	Some jade works by famed folk artists such as Jiang Xi and Jiang Chunyuan from Suzhou, Jiangsu province, go for auction at Beijing Changfeng autumn sales, at the Beijing International Hotel. Hundreds of handicrafts, known as "Treasures of the Study", such as brush-holders, ink slabs, and ink sticks as well as ink paintings by modern ink artists, will also be auctioned off.

November 13, 2009	At 1,794 kilometers in length, the Grand Canal is known as the longest artificial river in the world. Starting from Beijing in the north and ending in Hangzhou in the south, the Canal goes through Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Earlier this year, an initiative was launched to protect and develop the Canal.

October 9, 2009	Thursday, October 1st, marked China’s 60th anniversary. Nanjing, Jiangsu’s capital put forward its best face and put together a diverse array of activities for tourists and city residents. Festivities began on September 29. Nanjing saw its largest float parade ever. Thirty floats gathered in the Nanjing Olympic Center and paraded through all corners of the city for over 3 hours.

March 26, 2009	Jiangsu’s snooker star Ding Junhui builds up his heroic image again, but this time as a cartoon series hero. The 26-episode cartoon series, Dragon Ball No.1, will be based on Ding's growth from a shy boy to a snooker star. It is expected to be broadcast on Chinese TV in 2010.
March 10, 2009	Jiangsu's first Internet police station was officially opened on Sunday in Zhenjiang to provide information and collect clues to crime. It is expected to serve as a communication channel between local police and residents.
